Why invest in private yoga or meditation on Zoom?

Paying for private yoga or meditation lessons may seem like a bit of a luxury. Sure, the investment is higher than a group class, but Zoom private yoga lessons will help you deepen your practice much more quickly. In fact, there are many reasons why online private one-on-one sessions can be extremely beneficial.

You will get:

► One-on-one attention
► Faster results
► Practice from the comfort of your own home
► Book your class at a time that is suitable for you

Wherever you are on your yoga journey, private classes are well worth the investment.

Let’s explore, in more detail, some of the reasons you might want to choose this as an option.

Who will benefit from online private yoga?

If you can relate to any of the statements below, then you will greatly benefit from Zoom one-to-one private sessions.

Click on each of the drop-downs to read more.

  • ► Group classes feel uncomfortable or too challenging

Some people thrive in a group class environment, whereas others may struggle.

This is why online private yoga sessions are ideal for anyone with body limitations, injuries or specific mind-body goals in mind. I will tailor each private class around your abilities and level of experience, creating a safe space, free from any judgement.

► You have a pre-existing injury or body limitations

If you have an injury, chronic pain or illness then I highly recommend investing in online private yoga lessons.

In a group class it's not always possible to address all conditions, but in a private class I will work with you to strengthen the areas that need to be strengthened, without aggravating the areas of your body that require rest.

Together, we will troubleshoot poses to find the best modifications for you.

    ► You're a total beginner

Private online yoga sessions are great for beginners! We'll have the time and space to break down poses and go through proper alignment so that you don't hurt yourself.

The sessions will be designed around your specific needs and goals. You will also receive personalised verbal adjustments and feedback from me, and I'll tell you what variations to take and what props to use.

► You have a very busy schedule

    You’re busy, I get it.

One of the easiest ways to fit yoga around a tight schedule is to take up Zoom private lessons.

If you want to make your physical and mental wellbeing a priority, it’s important to make yoga convenient, and one-to-one online yoga sessions are just that.

    ► You travel a lot & can’t attend a regular weekly in-person class

If you travel frequently, it can be difficult to maintain a consistent yoga practice whilst on the road.

Sure, you can watch YouTube yoga videos in your spare time, but you will see a lot more progress if you stick with one teacher you relate to and work with on a regular basis.

Private online yoga sessions allow you to choose the days and times that best suit you, whilst helping you stay consistent and accountable.

► You want to deepen your knowledge

In a group class setting there is often a set theme and not much space for individual requests or questions.

If you want to go deeper on a specific area of yoga (asana, meditation, pranayama, philosophy) then private classes will give you the ability to expand your knowledge and the tools to grow at a much faster rate.

► You want to learn more advanced yoga

Group classes often cater to differing levels, yet it’s not always possible or suitable to work on advanced postures.

If you want to work towards new and more challenging poses, private online yoga classes will help prepare you in a safe and comfortable environment.

    Who will benefit
    from online private meditation?

If any of the below sound like you, then you will benefit enormously from private meditation sessions.

Click on the drop-downs below to read more.

► You feel stressed and anxious

In today’s world, we find ourselves under constant stress. Whether you’re worried about your financial situation, you’re having relationship problems at home, or your health is declining, if you don’t learn to manage your stress levels it can become difficult to cope.

Meditations that involve breathwork are especially helpful in activating the parasympathetic nervous system - your rest and digest mode. This encourages your body and mind to relax fully, so that you’re able to release and let go of the physical and mental stresses of every day life.

    ► You have problems sleeping

When it comes to bedtime you find your mind racing, and you just cannot switch off.

Meditation teaches you to let go of your thoughts, worries, cares, and focus on the present moment. Yoga Nidra, in particular, is an amazing meditation technique to promote relaxation to ensure a good night’s rest.

► You get brain fog and you’re having trouble focusing

Meditation is simply concentration. By focusing your attention on your breath, a mantra or a visualisation you start to build your concentration muscle. With time and practice, you’ll start to get less distracted find it easier to focus.

    ► You’re battling with depression

A regular meditation practice will help you find inner peace and well-being, so that you are able to master your emotions and focus on all of the wonderful things in your life.

► You feel stuck in life, and you need clarity

I get you, I’ve been there myself. You feel like you’re just going through the motions, you lack purpose in life, and you feel numb.

If this sounds like you, then you will find meditation extremely valuable. It will teach you to listen to your heart over your head so that you can discover your true desires. Once you know what you want, you can begin to create your dream life.

    Meet your teacher,
    Jamie Brown

Hi! I'm Jamie, a RYT 400 certified yoga teacher. I’ve been practising yoga for more than 12 years and have taught students from all around the world for the past 2 years.

My mission is to empower you to get to know your own body so that you can jump on your mat with confidence, without worrying about injuring yourself.

The ultimate goal is to learn to use the tools of yoga to dive inwards, discover yourself and grow physically, mentally and spiritually.

If you’re ready to deepen your practice, let me help you get started.

  • Are you ready?

If you’re serious about making big changes to your physical and mental well-being, nothing beats working with a teacher one-on-one.

In yoga, my focus is to empower you to feel confident on your mat by giving you the tools to understand your body better. This way you can adapt your practice to best suit your specific body type and avoid injury. Whatever you want to work on (flexibility, strength, peace-of mind) know that I am here to support and guide you on your yoga journey, and I will work with you to create a bespoke programme to help you achieve your wellness goals.

If it’s meditation you’re after, my private meditation sessions will offer personalised guidance and support in whichever area you choose to focus on (whether you want to improve your concentration, reduce stress and anxiety or simply establish a more regular practice).

    Frequently asked questions...

    What do I need?

All you need is a space to roll out your mat, set up your computer and a good internet connection.

In your welcome email, you will receive more information including a list of household items you can use as home yoga props.

I've never done yoga or meditation before,
    is that OK?

Yes! Private lessons are perfect for beginners. We'll have the time and space to breakdown the poses and move at whatever pace works for you. You'll also get personalised feedback and variations tailored to your specific body type so you'll make much faster progress than in a group setting.

    What does a private class
    consist of?

    Check-in
We'll begin each session with a brief informal chat and check-in. This is a chance to discuss how you're body is feeling after the previous lesson, and anything you want to work on in particular. Unlike group classes which are planned, private sessions are generally more flexible.

    Asana (poses)
The majority of our time together will be spent on yoga poses, however I may include a short meditation or breathwork exercise. After a gentle warm up, we'll move through a series of seated, standing and balancing poses, before cooling down at the end. There will be an open dialogue with me throughout the class, so you can ask questions as we move along, and proper alignment will be supported with verbal adjustments.

The style of yoga that I teach is alignment-based Hatha. This involves moving at a slower pace and holding the poses a little longer than you might do in a Vinyasa class. That said, if you prefer a stronger or slightly faster paced practice, the class will be tailored to your preference.

    Homework
If you like, to maximise the benefits of each session I can give you 2-5 poses to work on in-between appointments. Consistent practice will yield the best results, even if it's just a few minutes of yoga every day.

What does a private meditation class consist of?

Just like private yoga, a one-to-one meditation class consists of the same three phases: the check-in, the practice and optional homework.

    Check-in
We'll begin the lesson with a quick chat to see how you're getting on, go through any questions and talk through any difficulties you might be experiencing.

    Meditation
As this is a private class, we will have the opportunity to explore different meditation techniques to see what works best for you. Each lesson will be tailored around your specific needs and mental goals.

    Homework
Meditation becomes easier with practice. This is why consistency is key. Meditating for even just 5 minutes a day, makes all the difference! If you're up for it, I can give you specific homework or guided meditations to listen to in-between sessions.

    How often should I schedule?
Can I do 1 session to try it out?

This is totally up to you, but my regular clients usually take 1 or 2 private sessions at the same time each week. Committing to a regular day and time that works for you helps you stay accountable.

And yes! You can absolutely take a single session to try it out and see if it's for you.

    What is the cancellation policy?

If you wish to cancel, please note that I require at least 24 hours’ notice for a refund to be issued, otherwise the full fee is payable.
